Dear valued customer. I will be telling you how to prepare for your removal. Before we start your removal whether it is moving to a new house or moving to a new place of business it is very important everything is ready before we arrive. You should pack everything you can into boxes for general stuff. This includes books, DVDs, and any other general items. Making sure everything is packed into boxes is key for a fast and successful removal. It also ensures your items will not be damaged or lost during transport. You should close the boxes using duct tape or cellar tape to secure your personal items. Another very important part of preparing for your removal is labelling your boxes. It is very important to label your boxes, so we know what they are, and it makes it much easier for you to find everything later. It is especially important for you to label boxes, which contain fragile items, such as; glass, plates and any other fragile goods. This makes sure we take extra care when moving and transporting your delicate items. You should also wrap your fragile items in bubble wrap to avoid damage. Preparing furniture for transportBefore we arrive, it is very important you prepare all your furniture for transport. This applies to both house and commercial removals for example, if we are to transport your sofa you must secure it well, so it does not get damaged. It is very important to cover and secure the corners using bubble wrap and cling film. Cover the corners of your furniture with bubble wrap and put cling film over the bubble wrap to secure it and hold it in place. Use this method for all your furniture, big electronic devices and any other big items. Once all items are secured, we will safely be able to remove your items and put them in our van ready for transport. However, remember to do this before we arrive so everything is safe, secure and ready to go. If everything is prepared well, this will make sure the removal goes smoothly. By this I mean a fast and easy removal without any unnecessary delays. Man & Van will always provide the highest quality, professional service.Advice for removal preparation To reduce the stress of moving to a new house planning beforehand is key. Being a professional moving company, we are very experienced in removals and the removals industry, so we can give you some advice on how and when to prepare for your removal. You should always plan your removal beforehand. If you are moving office, moving shop, restaurant, bar or club you should also make sure everything you wish to transport is packed securely and ready to go. Our drivers are specially selected before they join as a driver and will take extra care when transporting your goods. Preparing for a removal can take longer than people commonly think. That is why you should prepare at least a week before we arrive. It is better to have everything ready early, rather than late and delayed. People sometimes do not realise how much things they have and how long preparation will take, especially if it is their first removal.Common mistakes to avoidBoxes overloading: This is a very common mistake people make. They overload their boxes with items, which often results in the items falling out and getting damaged. To avoid this, make sure you have enough boxes for all your items. Prepare this beforehand. All boxes should be filled and secured well not overpacked. Using cheap/bad quality materials to secure the goods: This is another mistake people sometimes make. If you have bad quality boxes, such as weak cardboard this often results in the boxes breaking and your items falling out. Preferably you should use strong, good quality plastic boxes. These will not tear like cardboard especially when the boxes are heavy. It is very likely your boxes will be fully packed. It is a lot better to be safe and not risk your boxes breaking and damaging your personal items. Good quality plastic boxes are very unlikely to break if they are not overloaded.Team is not informed about fragile items: I have previously talked about the importance of labelling your items especially if they are fragile. If we do not know items are fragile this could result in them being damaged. We take extra care to make sure fragile items are safe and secure when we handle them. Delicate and fragile items can be easily damaged during transport if they are not packed properly. You must make sure they are packed in boxes securely preferably also with bubble wrap inside. If fragile items are loose and bundled together in a box it is very likely they will be damaged, so remember to pack them in their boxes securely.Furniture is not secured: If you do not secure your furniture this often results in the furniture being damaged. Removals often involve moving furniture through tight spaces. This can often result in the corners hitting the wall for example. That is why we ask for you to cover and secure your furniture especially the corners to avoid damage. This includes all your furniture and big electronics. You could also cover your furniture in special plastic coverings to fully make sure your items are not damaged during transport. We would advise you to do this to make sure your items are safe and secure.
